Nephroptosis of the right kidney

Information about the symptoms of the disease, the causes of the appearance, the effectiveness of therapeutic methods will help to cope with the pathology. Nephroptosis of the right kidney is a slightly frightening term for its intricate name. Is the disease really so scary? Try to prevent or defeat the appearance of kidney motility so that the consequences are not devastating to the body. How to eat and choose the best exercises for healing nephroptosis?

What is kidney nephroptosis?

The kidneys of a healthy person are almost stationary and are located at the same level. Pathology due to the mobility of one or two organs is nephroptosis. The kidneys move to the abdomen, groin, or pelvis. The disease that occurs most often is nephroptosis or mobility of the right paired organ. Women are more at risk, due to the special physiological structure of the body.

Classification of nephroptosis is used by doctors around the planet. Only a doctor can make a diagnosis, after passing the tests by the patient and conducting an ultrasound examination. It is extremely difficult to palpate the kidney, especially in overweight people. After a proper examination, preliminary consultation, the doctor should prescribe an appropriate treatment method based on the degree of complexity of nephroptosis.

Degrees of Nephroptosis

Nephroptosis of a painful right kidney occurs in both adults and children. There are three stages in the development of pathology. Each stage is characterized by its own characteristics of identifying the problem, signs and difficulties of treating nephroptosis. The following stages are distinguished:

  • Nephroptosis 1 degree

The early stage of the disease, in which it is very difficult to identify the problem. Overweight adults are particularly difficult to diagnose at this stage: determining the pathology by touch is extremely difficult. The kidney can be examined only during inspiration, otherwise it "hides" in the area under the right hypochondrium. Nephroptosis on the right is much easier to cure at this stage without surgery.

  • Second degree

It is easier to diagnose nephroptosis of the 2nd degree. In the upright position of the patient, the kidney leaves the hypochondrium and falls. In horizontal position, it hides back up or you need to correct it yourself by hand. The last point is not painful for patients. The position of the kidney at this stage is independent of the respiratory process.

  • Third degree

It is characterized by the fact that the right kidney is omitted, in almost any position it leaves the usual recess in the hypochondrium. Such a development of nephroptosis is dangerous, fraught with more serious consequences, additional pathologies. Treatment in this period should occur intensively to reduce all sorts of risks to human health.

The omission of the kidney occurs due to fluctuations in the intra-abdominal pressure, disruption of the ligaments or their stretching, damage to the renal notches. Depending on the reasons, a one-sided or two-sided type of disease is distinguished. The reasons that the right kidney is prone to nephroptosis are:

  • large weight loss in a short time due to diet or illness;
  • damage to ligaments due to too high a load;
  • injuries in the lumbar region, impaired ligaments and hematomas;
  • weakened tone of the abdominal wall (this applies to pregnancy and the postpartum period);
  • congenital abnormality in the work of ligaments and tissue structure;
  • prolonged severe cough;
  • rickets suffered in childhood, involving bone deformation and muscle hypotension.

Symptoms of drooping kidney

The severity of the fact that the kidney has lowered depends on the stage of development of the pathology, the sensitivity of the organ itself, and the complications that have appeared. The organ that has moved affects all the others nearby, including the ligaments with which it is held. The output of urine is difficult, inflammation appears, entailing adhesions, additional damage.

Possible symptoms of nephroptosis:

  1. Pain.
  2. The "migration" of the kidney is felt to the touch.
  3. Difficult urination.
  4. Symptoms of diseases of other organs.
  5. Irritation of the kidney artery, tissue disorder, subsequently arterial hypertension.
  6. Nausea, vomiting.
  7. Worse sleep.
  8. Rapid pulse, edematous processes, severe headache.
  9. Sharp jumps in blood pressure.

The first stage of the disease is rarely seen. Sometimes it affects the pain in the lower back after physical exertion, jumping and carrying heavy loads. The pain is not too strong, mostly aching in the area where the pathological condition develops. But the initial moments, as a rule, are completely invisible, only a visit to a doctor will help to find.

The second degree of nephroptosis painfully proceeds. Lift is unbearably difficult. The sensation of pain occurs often, heavily, occurs not only in the lower back, but also in the abdomen, pelvis. The appetite of the person worsens, the intestines work, problems with urination appear. The kidney in this case leaves the usual position completely, a person is able to return it to its original position without serious consequences. Nephroptosis on the left is often mistaken for pancreatitis.

The third degree of pathology of the right kidney is almost constantly painful, often similar to the manifestation of appendicitis. Complications arise: pyelonephritis, hydronephrosis, renal failure, adhesions appear. In this case, a person needs to conduct a thorough diagnosis in order to identify possible complications, to prevent their occurrence.

Treatment methods

How to treat kidneys? Is there a remedy that cures an adult and a child? Doctors, depending on what stage the problem is diagnosed with, select either conservative methods of treatment or resort to surgery. For starters, this is wearing a bandage. Belt contraindications exist in case of fixed nephroptosis. Important! Wear an orthopedic bandage on the exhale, otherwise the wearing efficiency will decrease to zero.

The complex of physiotherapy exercises (LFK) cannot be underestimated: with regular performance, its effectiveness is very high. Gymnastics is aimed at limiting nephroptosis of a sick right kidney (mobility), restoring the internal pressure of the abdominal cavity, and strengthening muscles. The exercises will not completely fix the problem, but it is worth doing regular exercises regularly to reduce risks.

Proper nutrition is required. Excess weight complicates not only the diagnosis of the disease, but also its bilateral treatment, creating an extra load. Often, nephroptosis is accompanied by nausea, vomiting, which is due to a weakened intestine. The amount of harmful fats, carbohydrates should be reduced from the diet, moderate appetite, after discussing this point with the doctor.

Nephropexia is a long-term fixation of the kidney. The operation is performed when the treatment conservatively does not bring the desired effect. Laparoscopy (intervention through abdominal punctures using a special camera) is less traumatic and occurs almost without loss of blood. The risks of complications are low, and subsequent rehabilitation is easier for the patient to tolerate.

Without going to the doctor, a person is at great risk. A careless attitude to kidney pain threatens urolithiasis, excruciating adhesions, arterial hypertension. Pregnant women run the risk of spontaneous miscarriage or the intensive development of the disease after childbirth. Self-medication is also unsafe, since only a qualified specialist should prescribe the correct method of treatment and rehabilitation.
